Campervan or Motorhome holidays with the kids – our top tips

14/07/2016

Did you know that campervan or motorhome holidays can be one of the most inexpensive holidays around? You just need to ensure that the kids are kept entertained, so making it as fun as possible for them is paramount.

Moore4Motors have put together some tips for holidaying with the kids in a campervan or motorhome.

Planning is king!

It’s worthwhile sitting down and making a rough plan and writing down a list of books and games you can take away just in case of a downpour. It’s also a good idea to have a list of places where you can eat and that you want to visit which you know the kids will love, this may prevent any crabbiness and upsets. Where possible give the kids a heads up of where you are planning to visit, and maybe ask them what they’d like to do, that way everyone is happy, and it’s always great to get feedback – right?

Moore4motors supply cool stuff for the kids, like weekly planners, small chalkboards, drinking jars, notebooks and much more. Treat the kids this summer and check out our fun items.

Simply does it

Don’t go overboard on the packing, but make sure you are ready for all eventualities. We all know the traditional English summer can be hit and miss at the best of times, it could be blazing hot sun one minute and raining the next. Make sure you have just enough but not too much clothing, it can take up loads of space in a campervan or motorhome and we all know that space is paramount and anyway there will be more important items you will need to pack such as the BBQ! If you have an awning or tent, then we have some great accessories that you may find useful.

Relax and enjoy

Once you hit the road and you find yourself in a location that you’ve just discovered, go ahead and explore it whether it’s woodlands, mountains, towns or cities. Here at Moore4Motors, we suggest that remaining flexible is the best bits of a campervan or motorhome holiday. It’s not like you have to be somewhere at any given time, like when staying in hotels for example.

Give and take

When you’ve got a van full of kids, it can get a bit trying after a while, so make sure that you give each other space. Factor in some ‘alone time’ where the kids can run around and burn off any excess energy.   Parks and beaches are ideal for this and it’s great for adults too!
